:: Hollywood Bitch/RevolutionStone Temple PilotsThey’re back! The granddaddies of late-90’s alterna-rock. Back from the Rolling Stone cover shoots, the heroin headlines and their lousy “arty” record. Hollywood Bitch is neither a classic record nor a lousy one. It’s tough, loud and has Scott Weiland’s brilliant voice all over it. He’s got that classic rock voice that effortlessly alternates between snarl and sensitivity. The chorus is fairly uninspired, but they were never the most literate band. It’s all about the guitar, baby! The single contains a shocking cover of The Beatles “Revolution” proving that nobody, except Sergio Mendez, should be allowed to cover Beatles classics. However, the proceeds of this single are being donated to the “Twin Towers Fund” in honour of the rescue workers who lost their lives in the WTC tragedy. The single also has a live version of “Tripping On A Hold In A Paper Heart” which should be listened to by collectors and obsessed fans only. |
