I had got the word on Sunshine several months ago, with the American hype building her up to be “the next big thing”. Her credibility was already put in place because Macy Gray manages her. Her album is out in the States and she is doing great things. Her American fan base is building rapidly. In Australia, we have this first single. It’s another contemporary R&B song which doesn’t blow you away, but rather emphasises the talent blooming in her country and the plentiful number of opportunities given to such singers because of the world in which we live. Oh, for another 50 million people in Australia to be able to buy Australian music! Still, this appeals as radio-friendly, and just the start of what will be a successful time for Sunshine. She has the powerful voice, the looks and the charm to captivate Australian audiences and looks set to tour Australia later this year.
