:: The Prize RecruitSuperheistWith this debut album, Superheist is starting to pull the right strings with a collection of songs that show a gradual progression and provide music fans with a localised version of tracks that aren’t too removed of what our foreign counterparts could expect from the Limp Bizkit type bands. But there are subtle variations to ponder. The brutal pounding of sounds is now tempered by an electronic influence in accordance with the various songwriting styles within the band’s make-up. And they keep a sort of discussion thread happening; tied in to their previous release – the interesting “8 Miles High”. They will just keep evolving. The Prize Recruit shows their current standing in producing multi-faceted music. They certainly show that they aren’t standing still. “The Fight Back” has catchy riffs and a fine vocal. The band show themselves as capable of smooth and softer sounds, such as the interesting “The Ghost” and “Slide”, showcasing a good mix of styles. Their bread and butter sound comes through on “Crank The System”, a true metal barrage. These songs are sure to be well delivered on the live stage, so its; worth checking out. |
