The Androids

What a novel and clever music marketing exercise? A song titled “Do It With Madonna” received lots of airplay, rose high in the national charts, and caused even the lady herself to acknowledge it as something she liked. This got many people started on The Androids and it’s pushed them up to a high status in a relatively short space of time. It’s interesting to note that lead singer and guitarist Tim Henwood had a vision for setting out a band with good ideas and to have fun making music. Music listeners found a fresh voice and it helped land the band a deal with Republic Records in America. This album demonstrates the enthusiasm and commitment of the band. There are lots of hooks and an abundance of melody throughout the album. Another single, “Here She Comes”, has been released since the “Madonna” song – a more powerful song that is well executed. Generally catchy songs give an overall good feel for a band set to make waves. An overseas promo trip is imminent and much more productivity lies ahead.
