The Calling

A track from the movie that failed to rival the likes of X-men and Spiderman, Daredevil, comes LA band, The Calling’s ‘For You.’ Use of a string section throughout the track brings a fuller sound, accentuating the emotional sentiment. Despite not having seen the film, this track evokes images of vinyl clad Ben Afflick and Jennifer Garner in each other’s arms after a life or death battle with evil menace’s. And like such scenes, ‘For You’ is a little cheesy and very predictable, not straying far from the sound and feel of previous single ‘Where Ever You Will Go’ and ‘Adrienne.’ However the sweet sounds of the stings delicately dispersed between vocals and guitar brings a pull-at-your-heart-strings quality that is surprising and endearing.
