The Donnas

There have been many comparisons made about The Donnas. They arrived on the scene with a bang with their last album “Turn 21” from 2001. The four-piece all-girl band has made their mark since then and they should be proud of this latest achievement. With driving guitars and a belligerent force, rarely seen in young women of rock over the past few years, The Donnas produce quality rock from raw energy and originality. “Who Invited You” and “Take It Off” are a couple of tracks that highlight this point. The rest of the album sticks to their energetic rock pattern and it works exceedingly well. In fact, at just forty minutes in length, one could argue that there isn’t enough of the girls on show. These girls are feisty and dynamic, with lots of attitude. I know that the girls are keen for fans to view this album as if guys were playing the songs. Therefore, the big riffs and power certainly give that impression, showing the band’s capabilities in being able to rock visibly. The CD comes enhanced with photos, screensavers, wallpaper and video for “Do You Wanna Hit It” – a fantastic overall package.
