The John Butler Trio

‘Living’ is the 4th official release from the John Butler Trio. This double CD was recorded at 4 live shows from October 2001- October 2002 and includes the latest studio single ‘Home Is Where The Heart Is.’ This live release is a snap shot of the band and its members, where touring became living and living became touring. If you have not been fortunate enough to witness John and his mates live, this album will provide you with a sense of the electricity and soulful, emotional candour that emanates from the stage. Fittingly the album is dedicated to the fans that have supported JBT live gigs. ‘Living’ takes us back to the heart of the folk tradition, featuring extensive improvisation and instrumentals breaks. Songs are let off the leash and encouraged to take on a life of their own, expanding and contracting as they breathe. Familiar work, such as ‘Attitude’, ‘Pickapart’, ‘Betterman’, ‘Believe’ and ‘Don’t Understand’, is combined with earlier pieces creating an astoundingly powerful album. An exceptional songwriter, talented musician and advocate of actively contributing to making this world a better place, John Butler is somewhat of a national treasure and this album is an awe-inspiring testament to his contribution to Australian music. http://www.johnbutlertrio.com
