:: Let You Down

The Kingsbury Manx

This band is from Chapel Hill, North Carolina. It’s their second album. They use their influences of the harmony-based tendencies of The Beach Boys and other 60s US artists, and deliver this style plus their own indie styling. The combo comes across as very unassuming, yet effective outfit that produces very melancholy music in the way they’ve crafted these songs. They express an introspective ray of thoughts and it’s got the indie-rock ingredients all parcelled up. The distorted guitars and wayward flair adds to their mystique. “Porchlight” is a good indication of this down-tempo pop. The songwriting probably suits this mood, in talking of sensitivity and regret. Give it a listen.
