This album has been a long time coming for DJ Tim and Jez Willis, after being somewhat of a pioneer band about ten years ago with their innovative big beats sound. “What Can You Do For Me” was a memorable single for them. It’s great to be able to hear the wizardry of their rapid rhythms again. Many frenetic samples and drum loops epitomise this album and the guys demonstrate their remarkable programming skills. And they manage to keep a fresh feel to the seventeen songs. Check out the breakbeats of track 12 “Techknowledgy” and the strength of track 2 “Power To The Beats”. Add to that, the array of guest vocalists, including REM’s Michael Stipe, Edwin Starr, Chrissie Hynde, Chuck D (Public Enemy), and Iggy Pop, and the ingredients are there for something unique. The Australian CD release contains three bonus remixes, previously unavailable, by Todd Edwards, Monetshot Levant Canseven & Guido Craveiro. With it’s modern day mix of beats, house and ambience, it is definitely recommended for dance music enthusiasts.
