Containing twenty hits of the glorious disco days, Boogie Traxx 2 serves up a fabulous collection for those wanting to reawaken their memories. The late Seventies and early Eighties are still important musical times, as evidenced by the constant sampling of songs from that era. The good quality of tracks chosen separates them from various musical cycles since. In this collection, you get mostly extended versions (they used to be considered rare and collectible). There are some real musical ornaments here, including “You Spin Me Round by Dead Or Alive, Dan Hartman’s “Instant Replay”, and Cyndi Lauper’s “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun”. Throw in Taylor Dayne, a singer whose voice seems to have been rejuvenated by current performers Anastacia and Vanessa Amorosi, with “Tell It To My Heart”, as well as the infamous “Ice Ice Baby” by Vanilla Ice, and you get the picture. There are several other moments to savour and well worth another look back.
