The Buddha Bar is situated in the heart of Paris. Leading its musical identity is a man of Indian origin DJ Ravin. He made an impression on the first two Buddha Bar compilations. Here, he stands tall again in this third collection of rich musical styles. It’s interesting to note that the CD booklet contains well wishes from the Buddha Bar’s many celebrity clients, including Cameron Diaz, Quincy Jones, George Lucas and Sean Connery. It therefore touches many people as in the Café Del Mar series of CDs. The theme of Disc1is “Dreams”. It’s a selection of soulful and spiritual tracks appropriate for an early evening moment. A track titled “Invisible Movies” by Adrian Enescu comes across as a definite highlight. Disc 2 has the theme of “Joy”; a more upbeat selection of tracks that capture the euphoric feeling of the beats and rhythms. Talvin Singh would be more known amongst the artists here, and his “Veena” generates much fervour. There is a great closing number, “Arabian Song” from Livin’ In Da Ghetto. Listeners will find these two CDs very international and a relatively fresh and interesting mix of songs.
