Chillout seems all the rage at the moment, judging by the amount of CDs being compiled these days. DJ Bruno has taken over from Jose Padilla as the Café Del Mar man. Bruno delivers well in keeping the great standard set in previous CDM releases. The lush and dreamy selection gives an ambient beauty throughout the tracks. “Beyond The Sunset” by Jo Manji has wonderful saxophone before reaching into a sweeping percussive groove amid an exotic beach atmosphere. It’s a great opening track. Others to note are “A Day In The Sun” by So Fine, and “Time Is The Enemy” by Quantic. “Many Rivers To Cross” by CDM is sublime also. You’d want to be etched on a dream-filled Spanish beach after hearing these tracks.
