Steve starts off this little journey of a disc with a track going harder than any post-twenty year old heartbeat ever should. Why do all hard house DJs start off their compilations cold, going from 0 – 180 beats a minute? I guess they’re in a hurry to get started. Further into the trip though, his trademark uplifting sound is apparent and the album begins to round out nicely, with Meister’s Can You Feel It remixed by Hill himself segueing very nicely into James Lawson and Hill’s Love Is the Drug. Love is another deeper exploration, an electro foundation to build the core of the set on. Frankly, as it gets going, it is easily the most intriguing and listenable hard house release in a long time. Fans of earlier Frantic Residents (around 10,000 of each have been sold worldwide) will be delighted to hear that this volume far surpasses the previous two, which were, in hindsight, relatively unimaginative in comparison.
