:: Music from the Motion Picture - Tomb Raider

Various Artists

Just in case you've been living in a cave lately, Tomb Raider is the latest teen male holiday movie hit inspired by the computer game of the same name. The movie is all action so fittingly the soundtrack is an energetic collection of songs by the bands the kids of today are into (U2, Nine Inch Nails, Chemical Brothers and Moby) - these bands could make a lucrative career just appearing on soundtracks. Easily the stand out song in this compilation is the remix of U2's brilliant “Elevation (Tomb Raider Mix)”, the original of which is one of the standouts of their awesome “All That You Can Leave Behind” CD. Other highlights are the disco inspired “Ain't Ever Learned” by Moby, “The Revolution” by BT which features a kick ass groove, Fat Boy Slim's “Illuminati” and the atmospheric “Edge Hill” by Groove Armada that just sounds magnificent and is the second best song of the album. Like all soundtracks they're made with the cinemagoers in mind so it is probably fair to say that if you like the movie chances are you'll like the CD.
