A fine compilation that captures the spirit of this capital city, as heard in local nightclubs. This has a very inviting CD cover – a trait that will appeal on future such compilations – as designed for a wide-eyed tourist. The CD contains some edgy French dance music. The set proceeds through a myriad of images, with contributions from Rubin Steiner’s hip-hop jaxx, the 60s pop of Rouge Rouge, and jazz house of Aqua Bassino. There is also the Mirwais track, an electro house number. Within the set, the vocalists take the eye, especially in signifying the French funk flavour. Having distribution in several overseas territories will surely lead to good results for this and like-minded CDs.
