A collection of high profile US R&B stars make up most of this soundtrack album, with songs mostly previously released. It was thought to be a good time to rekindle some old tracks for the just-released movie. The film’s theme is a reworking of Cyndi Lauper’s “True Colours”, titled “Shining Through” by soul diva Jill Scott and rapper Fredro Starr. . It is one of the best features of the CD. Some other tracks of note are K-Ci and JoJo with “Crazy” and Donell Jones’s “U Know What’s Up”. The hype serves its purpose of a worthy accompaniment to the film.
