:: The Quiet Hours

Various Artists

The concept for this unique compilation came about from the reclusive French DJ Christian Dumas Solo discussing his views on music with the Australian Creative Vibes label managers. Christian has been one to keep a low profile in his exploration of his country’s artistic heritage. And, from the inspiration of Herbert’s “It’s Only”, which starts proceedings on this CD, we are privy to all things creative and smooth through The Quiet Hours, a symbolic journey of soulful, reflective songs. It’s sheer bliss to chill out to these tracks – all seventy-six minutes worth. We’ve previously spoken of the majestic sounds that Herbert has provided this year. His opener again demonstrates his great craft. Other notable tracks include St Germain, Llorca, EON, and the talented Australians Andy Rantzen and Soup. Rae & Christian, who, as we write this, are soon to tour Australia, do a polished remix on Aim’s “Sail”. Some lush sounds and soothing rhythms provide a wonderful musical antidote. Take note of the CD sleeve that features the label’s Megan Trimble in gloriously pensive mode. Here's to you, Megan!
