This is just the thing for enthusiasts of percussive power and some eclectic rhythms. Brazilian music has been magical at times and their talented musicians have provided great entertainment. This is no exception and the two-CD set contains over 150 minutes of music for pleasure, although there is much instrumental music. It won’t please many. I have difficulty in sustained listening to instrumental music. However, there are several highlights. On CD 1 there is the talent of Jose Padilla with a wonderful guitar/percussion combination to create perfect laid-back sounds. Track 7 brings soothing Brazilian music magic. It brings back the glory years of Sergio Mendes and Brasil 66. Track 10 contains terrific beats while tracks 12 and 13 are very idyllic, tranquil sounds. On CD 2, track 1 shows great percussive movements. The smooth, sometimes eclectic rhythms give the ultimate lounge music vibe. Track 3 has creative sampling while track 4 shows the wonderful use of the flute, in an invigorating performance.
