:: Wild Gold

Various Artists

If you don’t have any of the Wild CDs in your collection, here’s your chance to make up for it in a hurry. Wild strikes pure gold here in the form of a three-CD, 65-track compilation that makes clubbers melt. It has the most popular tracks from the series and, despite some having aged a little over the five or six years, it’s an immensely enjoyable collection, covering trance, hard house and big beats. The CDs are broken down into blocks that signify certain periods and it’s simple, effective dance music. Just think of the following: Fragma’s “Toca’s Miracle”, Sash!’s “Adelante”, “Ian Van Dahl’s “Castles In The Sky”, Iio’s “Rapture”, and that’s just a sample of what’s on one CD. Then there are tracks by Paul Oakenfold, Daft Punk, Moloko, Spiller’s classic “Groovejet”, Armand Van Helden, Kosheen, Prodigy’s “Firestarter”, Chemical Brothers, and DJ Quicksilver and it’s a brilliant collection.
