This series has been a great success for the record label. This instalment covers two CDs and 45 tracks of dance hits. The discs epitomise what we might go through over a weekend (in this case, Friday and Saturday). The first CD starts with a mega mix of familiar sounds compiled by KCB, before weaving through tracks by Ian Van Dahl, Lasgo, and DFJ Boozy Woozy. Kosheen has made an impact over the past twelve months and they get a Guernsey here with “Catch”, while the Mad’House remake of “Like A Prayer” is featured. There are loads of recognisable samples on this disc as it crosses from commercial sounds to trance structures. The second disc has Supafly showing his wares in providing a megamix. It’s a deep-sounding style that indicates to listeners about Saturday being more into the groove. Some good selections here with highlights being Layo & Bushwacka’s “Love Story”, Timo Maas’s “Shifter” with MC Chickaboo, and Zippora’s “See The Sun”. The tracks pick up with intensity and give a feel good flavour of commercial house and trance music. There is much to enjoy here and Wild 17 is worthily compiled. Check it out one weekend!
