:: On The MakeWarpedBeing a long time in the making, Warped is now a three-piece band and they give us great melodies amongst the heavy riffing and strong bass. It’s not too far removed from how they string it all together on the live stage – with intensity and purpose. They create a tidy little diversion with the use of guest vocalists Adalita (from Magic Dirt), and Rebecca Barnard. This is full-on pacy rock yet pretty cohesive and fluent. A couple of worthy tracks are “Slow Ride” – wickedly paced and “Good From The Get Go” – also appeals strongly. They set the tone for an impressive album that moves at a steady, and at times, frenetic pace; something not easy for any three-piece band. The pounding rhythm section does a good job as such on tracks like “Lady Luck” and “Square Root”. Then there are some very heavy elements again like the brutal “Hot Trash”. Rock ‘n’ roll lovers will appreciate an album like this – aggressive and loud. |
