This features never before released tracks and remixes with local identities including Paul Kelly, DJ Ken Cloud and Deborah Cheetham. The album is very impressive in its own right with its sparse, seducing sounds. It’s not hard to be seduced by the spacey, atmospheric tracks of the album itself. The remixes add those extra ingredients that make WBSS a worthwhile proposition in Australian music circles. The title track and “I Want To” are two standout songs; the latter being a stunning number of epic proportions. Linda Janssen has more than a capable voice and shows her talent. There is soul and jazz elements that will strike interest among the keen listeners with “Do The Things” injects some reggae. Fine production and musicianship enables the album to work. The added feature this time around is the bonus remix disc for tracks like Paul Kelly’s “Change Your Mind”, which gets a terrific re-working. That’s just a sample of the clever use of technology engaged. A good package of sounds for the collection, and from an outfit that is sure to develop further.
