You Am I

With this latest LP You Am I exhibit their talent and strengths in a style that more closely resembles their earlier albums (eg. Hi Fi Way, certainly their best) than those of the late 90s. There is a more crunchy rock sound present with their crafty pop sounds toned down just slightly. Tim Rogers’ ability to write twisted, entertaining, intelligent lyrics that feel conversational adds to the strength of this record, with “Ribbons and Bows” being a personal standout. If you are a fan of the ‘New Rock’ put this record on instead of some of the less original efforts put out in the last couple of years.
