:: Eight Days AwayonedollarshortA solid collection of emo-punk (emotional-punk) rock tunes make up the latest offering from Aussie punk rockers One Dollar Short. Produced by Matt Lovell who has worked with the likes of Silverchair, Grinspoon and Something For Kate, Eight Days Away is packed full of the catchiest elements of punk rock blended with infectious melodies that work so well together. Alongside the singles “Is This The Part?”, “Boardgame” and “Ten Years” is the moving “Unsung Hero” and the melodic “Satellite” contributing to a fine album on the whole. One Dollar Short have tried to get their music out there to pretty much anyone who will listen by touring extensively throughout May this year, playing 18 shows in just 24 days. You may have also seen them supporting the Millencolin tour and appearing on the bill at Aussie festivals such as Homebake and the Vans Warped Tour. One Dollar Short’s thirst to play to live audiences has certainly rubbed off on this recording. You even get a sample of their onstage energy with the help of a bonus CD Rom with video footage from their live shows, on the road and in the studio. The bonus disk also comes with band photos as well as the video clip for “Is This The Part?”. Talk about value for money! |
