:: Volume 2001: Through The Sound Patrol

ryandavid

This is the debut album and it's not to bad. Ryan writes all his own lyrics and does his own entire recording, which includes all instruments and vocals. The music in this album is brilliant with heavy influences of the bass and downright catchy guitar riffs. Yet the vocals in some parts of the album feel forced and don't blend with the music. Its like Ryan is trying to experiment with the pitch and it has this created this feel that makes Ryan sound in pain. But Ryan regains his strength in his chorus's and the real feeling and sound of his voice comes out in the mellow groove THE FINE LINE BETWEEN PERFECTION AND DISORDER. This song has a natural flow and everything just seems to fall into place and the guitar playing is beautiful. Other songs on the album that really stick out are fast paced IN ABOULIA and the funky SPEECHLESS. Where both have this gutsy grasp on you that the others don't. Ryan has huge potential and his styles combine into this one big blend of rock, funk, jazz, blues and a little punk, that gives him a very original sound and versatility.
