A debut release where the band has explored the music avenues to write, produce, record and master this release. The four members of the band each have a certain style that they appreciate. It has been shaped into an eclectic, fresh-sounding set of tracks. It’s worth noting that [sofa mecca] has been involved in films and acting, and had their music used in short films. Indeed, lead singer Jason Gann co-produced and wrote “Wilfred”, a short film that won two prizes at this year’s Tropfest festival. Jason won Best Actor. The film features the song “Ashen”. It appears on this debut album. Opening track “Poster Of You” is the first single, and it’s quite a mix – sampled beats and mandolin providing the backbone of a unique sound. The romanticism shows out well and it’s reason to suggest that this band can grow into something worthwhile.
