This comes from a Los Angeles band, and they show creativity in solid progressive sounds while retaining the core focus of a brand of pop music. They display various ingredients of sampling, electronica and jazz influences in an altogether well produced album. With so much technology at their disposal, subthunk hones their skill well into something infectious and eye-catching. The band classes it as “triptonica” – a fusion of acid jazz, funk and electronica. The organic nature of this brand of music should please most music enthusiasts. Worth a listen.
