:: George - UnityGeorgeAn attractively presented package was the first thing that struck me when the new George CD arrived. As the musical talents of the band has grown, so has the way they present the material. This will be a CD that should draw in keen listeners and those with an eye for presentation. The good thing about George is they can provide musical substance way beyond normal parameters. They had a worthwhile break while the Elixir side project came to prominence in 2003. Everybody has benefited and ‘Unity’ sees a fresh approach, mixing the folk/jazz elements with some powerful rock moments. The instrumentation is impressive and the overall production is excellent. They remain versatile and continue to strive for excellence; such is their work ethic. Listeners will therefore be rewarded with some beautiful, subtle sounds, such as ‘One’, ‘Fortunate Smile’, and ‘Falling Inside’, while their previous single ‘Still Real’ sits alongside them nicely as a country-tinged track. With impressive melodies and production quality, ‘Unity’ sees George raise the bar even further and sets them up for a tilt at bigger things. |
