:: Glasshouse - Restore Factory SettingsGlasshouseThe name of the album ‘Restore Factory Settings’ seems to echo Glasshouse’s prophetic message to all humanity: Humanity is flawed in so many ways and man never seems to learn from past mistakes. On the other hand they are an up-and-coming and talented Aussie band from Brisbane. The lead singer has an amazing range of vocals, a voice that gets to great heights without effort. They are a passionate, well together band and ‘Restore Factory Settings’ is a well worked album. However it is a bit depressing. Sounds are sad and the main theme of choice, discontent, can weigh the listener down. The album would not be enjoyed by those who like their albums a bit more upbeat. Themes are deep: the end of the world in “This City”, the bad things of society, terrorism and the corrupt soul in “Just So” but most of all, they sing about disappointment. Perhaps the track “sos” sounds a bit more uplifting. Though Restore Factory Settings may not be the lightest of listens, it is definitely profound. | ![]() http://www.glasshouseband.com |
