:: Guns N' Roses - Chinese DemocracyGuns N' RosesTalk about one of the longest overdue albums in history! ‘Chinese Democracy’ marks the band‘s newest material since 1991. Guns N’ Roses had made a huge impact on rock in the late 1980s and then it unravelled in the early 1990s after the Use Your Illusion two album release. Now the band is ready to go again. Axl Rose and his band mates give us an all-out uncompromising and ferocious record. It is much better than I thought it would be. The one slight drawback might be, when you analyse it deeply, the record doesn't have a flow. It's as if the long time out has seen various parts just pieced together to form a puzzle. Having said that, on an song-by-song basis, most of them are strong and forceful. It's quite amazing to think how well the album sounds, considering Axl Rose's life during the last seventeen years in shaping any sort of album release. He has had to compile a fair selection of song drafts and his efforts in getting this album out there in public has been remarkable. What Axl should do now is turn things around with a relatively quick follow-up record - back to basics and just let loose with straight-up rock to get the added momentum. | ![]() |
