‘Season One’ marks the debut album for English band Hansom Pilot. I first heard the band nearly three years ago when they issued their first EP/ They showed great promise and this album exemplifies the talent capably. A true worthy indie sound resonates throughout the twelve tracks and, led by the attractive expatriate Australian Bianca Denham, the band displays stand out melodies and classy musicianship. The production is slick and listeners will sense the mood and lyrics during the often anthemic and retro sounds. ‘Gotta Get Outta Here’ was a previous single and it remains one of the key tracks, while the closing track 'Map Of The World’ is a worthy final dose of the hooky, uplifting themes throughout. The punchy authoritative sound will grab attention and I've said previously that the band aren't far away from a major step forward. This album signals a step in that direction. Watch out for this infectious band during the year as they provide great action and value.
