It is quite amazing that one as young as Hilary Duff, with only three albums under her belt (one being a Christmas album), can already be releasing a ‘Best Of’, with of course four new songs to give it an edge. Never being a huge fan of Hilary, the upside of this album is that all her hits are in the one place. These include So Yesterday, Fly and her most recent single Wake Up, which tells of how poor old Hil is rich and famous but people don’t know the real her (ala Lindsay Lohan’s Rumours). This album does mix the bubblegum pop in with some tunes with a rockier edge, thanks to Hilary’s boyfriend, Good Charlotte’s Joel Madden, who produced three of the tunes with his brother as production team the ‘Dead Executives’. This doesn’t quite measure up to Avril but adds some diversity, as does The Go Go‘s cover 'Our Lips Are Sealed’. One thing Hilary Duff has going for her is that she doesn’t act or sing lyrics that are beyond her 17 years. Fans will love this album, and there are heaps of them, so I’m sure this ‘Ultimate Hilary Collection’ will be hugely popular with the tweens.
