Hot Snakes

On first hearing, Hot Snakes sound like a poor imitation of The Living End. The guitar is driving and there are some attempts at some catchy riffs. Unfortunately they’re just not catchy enough to make this album work. The vocals are standard punk rock yelling, but lack the energy to make the raw rock or punk sound this album needs. The riffs become tired easily, and that’s bad ground for this band whose lyrics also suffer from tired repetition.
