:: Ikara Colt - Modern Apprentice

Ikara Colt

Burgeoning with a true British music style, this band has the knack of creating a sharp guitar-based punk sound. It’s my first time of the band and they live up to the hype by the British press though there would appear to be much scope for improvement. They look cool and assured in the manner of being aggressive. The fiery lead breaks and sniping vocals blaze away enthusiastically and they give the listener a shoot-to-kill attitude. The punk style of “Modern Feeling”, the rock of “I’m With Stupid” and “Rewind”, and full-blown “Wanna Be That Way” signal great potential. The feeling of punk expression resonates strongly and Ikara Colt invigorates and propels forward to give something refreshing. They even hold back with a punk ballad like ‘Waste Ground’, indicating that there is more substance here than a feeling that the mood continues unabated. Paul Resende and his bandmates are sure to make their impact throughout the UK, at least, and it’s worth your while giving this a listen, at least for future reference.
