Melodic, thought provoking, charming, smooth and stylish - Jack Johnson is back with his new album ‘In Between Dreams’. Catchier than ever, JJ has produced new songs that will have you humming all day long. Once again he has been able to perfect his sounds, lyrics and rhythm into an amazing album of music. The soft lull of Jack Johnson’s voice in ‘In Between Dreams’ certainly hasn’t failed to provide that feel of relaxation, peace and comfort that he is famous for. Complete with his characteristic soft and soothing songs, the album also contains some upbeat songs, with a little more energy than usual. The sounds are refreshing and new, as are the lyrics. All of the lyrics are written by him once again, and are just as fascinating as ever. Jack Johnson undoubtedly has a talent for song writing, and it is this that contributes to such beautiful, calming and brilliant music. The lyrics seem to be primarily written about love, as in his previous albums, ‘Brushfire Fairytales’ and ‘On and On’. ‘In Between Dreams’ however, seems to place more of a focus on this love notion and relationships. This album of course, is not without his notorious metaphors. The four instruments in Jack Johnson’s band - the guitar, drums, percussion and bass, bring together the perfect combinations of sounds and result in wondrous harmonic music. Often with music, it’s just the tune that sticks in ones head, but with Jack, it’s the words as well - they’re too good to forget.
