:: Jack's Mannequin - The Glass PassengerJack's MannequinWith a more piano-based rock sound than the 2005 debut album Everything in Transit, Jack’s Mannequin’s The Glass Passenger is in most parts a moving and sometimes intimate account of front man Andrew McMahon’s battle with leukemia and recent life experiences. Not only are the lyrics straight-talking, but the honesty of the songs and brilliance of McMahon’s vocal ability have the capacity to both uplift and immerse you. The raw emotion and beautiful melodies leave you walking away feeling not only connected with McMahon, but reflecting on your own experiences and emotions. Fans of McMahon’s old band Something Corporate are catered for in one of the better piano rock albums I have heard in a long while. Highlights include “Swim” , “Annie Use Your Telescope” and the absolutely spectacular “Caves”, which gave me goose-bumps from start to finish and is the perfect ending to one of the best albums to be released this year! I have no doubt that Jack’s Mannequin, and in particular Andrew McMahon, will continue to become a musical force to be reckoned with. | ![]() http://www.jacksmannequin.com |
