My sister was very excited about the fact that I would be reviewing Jesse McCartney’s third single ‘Get Your Shine On’, from his debut album ‘Beautiful Soul’. And as a pre-teen, why wouldn’t she? Get Your Shine On takes me back to the bubblegum pop of nineties boy bands (even though Backstreet is officially back). The tweenies adore Jesse singing “Too hot, too hot.” Personally, the remix of She’s No You is my pick of the two tracks. With a more R & B feel, I can’t help but think of Justin Timberlake. I think Jesse and my sister have convinced me of the single’s merit (then again, she may just want me to take her to his shows in September). With strong songs like these, I’d certainly consider it.
