Lush lavish production and most probably lush lavish sales will see Jesse MCartney lighting up our most commercial of radio stations for months to come. An ex member of pioneering American boy band ‘Dream Street’, Jesse tackled Broadway at age 10 and now currently graces our TV sets in the ‘other OC’ series ‘Summerland’. One quick search on the Internet will confirm indeed Jesse has created quite the following amongst his growing legion of young hearts. It will be interesting to see where he decides to head as his market and undoubted talents grow. The songs themselves on this release are quite catchy in a Craig David meets Aaron Carter kind of way, the singles ‘Beautiful Soul’ and She’s No You’ being the standouts. With able song writing assistance from such luminaries as Desmond Child and Matthew Gerrard there is no surprise that the resultant product is smoothly aimed fair and square and the teen market. All in all it’s a pretty harmless affair that is sure to please parents and kids alike. Jesse himself says “I love to do ballads”. However the album is not limited to these. Check the track “Get Your Shine On”, where he ably shifts tempo up a little and takes on some upbeat hip hop. If it’s a younger, better looking Justin Timberlake you’re after with a little less edge and groove then Jesse McCartney is sure to provide.
