There is something so endearing about Jet. You listen to their music and just feel a little bit more Australian. Perhaps it’s because they are doing so well, showcasing local talent on the international stage, but the more likely answer is because they bring us what we like best, untamed, unruly and utterly addictive rock. The band’s latest single ‘Rip It Up’ is no exception to this rule, and delivers in full on all our musical desires. The single is downright dangerous, a heady extravaganza of riffs and beats. The B-Sides are slower, more intimate, but not lacking in rock credentials. It’s nice to see a band give something to the people, three great songs on one single, as opposed to one song re-mixed three times. It’s just enough to wet the tastebuds and have you searching for more.
