Jewel is opening up into new dimensions these days. For the time being, there are no observations about Jewel’s poetic thoughts in song and her delectable voice. There is more to the music now, through her new album. She introduces a dance element. She looks sexier and has a rebellious attitude. Can this new approach work in retaining her existing fans and attracting new ones? The voice still grabs you attentively and she adopts a tongue-in-cheek approach at times. There is an urban outlook and more upbeat tendencies in 80s fashion. The first single “Intuition” has done well already, and the video clip for it shows a raunchier side to Jewel. The catchy melody appeals. Good dance flavours are sprinkled throughout the album. “Run 2 U” is a bouncy dance track, “U& Me=Love has a techno tendency and Jewel clearly enjoys herself on this track, and it’s probably indicative of the talent and enthusiasm she holds. This is a great move for Jewel and she looks set to enter a new vibrant recording phase. She has the ability to grow even further as an artist.
