If you haven’t heard of an artist called June Morris, be prepared to as her voice will see her take Australia by storm. This New York based artist has to be one of the music industry’s hidden treasures; her voice is one of the most exciting things I’ve heard this year… there is no genre she can’t pull off. Her vocals are there for all to hear on ‘White Flower’ a sweet guitar driven track with lyrics so good you can’t help but like it. The rocky ‘Perfect Dream’ reveals what Madonna would have sounded like if she had taken the rock-route while the electronic feel of ‘Intrusive’ is made better by Morris’s sultry voice. ‘War is What We Had’ is another brilliantly written track but by far the best track on this EP is the haunting ‘Rescue’ which is one of the best electronic-driven tracks I have heard in a long time. ‘The Memory’ shows that Morris can pull off a slower number while ‘Cold’ is a good piece of alternative-pop. This is great EP for anyone that loves the sounds of a great female talent. I can’t rave enough about this EP and if you are a serious music fan you must go out and get yourself a copy.
