J Wess

J brings his US urban inspirations into a new life in Australia, ready to underwrite an Australian urban groove sound for he and fellow exponenets to stand up and make their own. He brings a new twist to what he's heard in the US - a streetwise set of beats and rhythms. The catchy choruses and R&B melodies are all well produced and there are several good listens. He is well aided by outstanding locals singer Kulaya and rapper Digga. Some highlights are “Reelin”, a cool, smooth track; the Latin-inspired “Mistakes”; and previous singles “Bang This” and “What Chu Want”. It's an impressive debut and J Wess will surely harness the talents of others in the time ahead, as a producer and songwriter. We'll also see how experimental he gets in the future.
