Poor Kate DeAraugo. Not only is she likely to have suffered the mispronunciation of her name for most of her life, this time next year she’ll be lucky if anyone remembers it. Yes, dear Kate is headed down the same road as last year’s Idol winner Casey Donovan, having made a bland and boring album that will ride briefly on the coattails of Kate’s Idol success before she shuffles off into obscurity. Her voice is fine, but not fantastic, and Delta already holds the Australian crown for queen of sudsy ballads.
