This 23-year-old Brisbane girl is no stranger to attention. Following the success of her self -financed EP, Telegram, in 2004, ‘Circular Breathing’ is sure to follow the same path. Her vocal range is extraordinary, and thanks to her extensive opera training, she never misses a beat. And her tracks are as sweet as sugar. Innocent, simple and sharp, standouts include ‘Out and In’, a cute song about love. Only Kate could pull off the distinctive pop/folk mixture of melodies. Her voice is almost pixie-ish, but sounds divine and very unique. ‘Circular Breathing’ holds a great compilation of tracks, made all the more special because of the fact that she has made her own. She is a breath of fresh air from the over-sexed and bass filled beats usually thrashed on the airwaves.
