:: Kirsten Thien - She Really Is

Kirsten Thien

This is a very gentle sounding record that offers much for the listener who simply wants to enjoy listening to contemporary music. This is my first time listening to Kirsten and she provides some heart-warming features though she is able to jump from jazz to ballad to pop. The lyrical content is personal and brings thoughts that most of us can relate to. It’s a very impressive record with songs like “Still Love The Rain” and “Treat ‘im Like A Man” grabbing my attention immediately for their purposeful nature. The album ends really well too, with an upbeat “She Really Is A Rock Star” leaving the listener feeling good. Seeing her perform in a smooth, lounge setting would be pretty comfortable, I’d think. I would like to hear more material to gauge a better opinion of her potential for developing her name in the industry, but this isn’t a bad listen.
