Kirsty Lee Akers

It‘s hard not to look past Kirsty Lee Akers’ smile, enthusiasm and bubbly personality when making any evaluation of her music. The young Australian country music star has developed remarkably for someone so young and fresh in the business. ‘Better Days’ is a worthy effort, with Kirsty Lee captivating listeners with sheer charm. She draws from her influences to release a classy contemporary album. The album demonstrates her maturity and her songs have obviously more depth. She can still be cheeky and tongue-in-cheek, which shows she is her own person. You can sense that in the single ‘Knocked Up’ - about teenage pregnancy. That, and many other songs show the fun and irreverent personality Kirsty Lee is known for. She co-wrote four of the twelve tracks and put her own moniker to ‘All The King's Horses’ - one of the real strong songs of the set. Generally, the vocals are beautiful and the variety is interesting, thereby showcasing her talent and aptitude in spades. The petite singer-songwriter has much to look forward to and this is another positive step in her career.
