In these days of manufactured music talent, it's pleasing and refreshing to come across sheer raw talent who doesn't need all the fancy lashings. Leah Driscoll is such a singer who has grown up through music school in Boston and now writes catchy pop melodies that tell of her experiences and which can relate to widespread audiences. Her independent debut album “Rising” has come to fruition through working with producer/songwriter Angel Angelov and it's a beautiful set of songs. There are upbeat dance songs, poignant ballads, and gorgeous R&B/funk sounds. Leah has real soul and personality in her voice and she must surely be on the radar for a big contract with her exceptional talent. I don't often like to compare singers but she reminds me of the impact of hearing Mariah Carey for the first time - not that she is identical in style - but just on the quality of the music and what she exudes. I believe that Leah Driscoll is one talented singer who has the ability to stay for a long time and grow into a terrific entertainer. This is a fantastic debut album and is highly recommended.
