This album fulfills the term ‘you only have one chance to make a first impression’, and impressive is the only way to describe it. After listening to it twice, I have absolutely no complaints to make. It is fantastic! Sounding a little like ‘Green Day’ with a splash of ‘The Cat Empire’, this album has it all. Upbeat rhythms, lively tunes and intoxicating beats give this album such a happy-go-lucky feel. The lyrics in each song however, are somewhat sad and downtrodden. Usually they would not suit the beats assigned to them, in that they fall at opposite ends of the spectrum: the words are gloomy, but the beats so summer-ish. But in another claim to genius the two have been masterfully combined to create an uplifting feel. So much so, you hardly pay attention to the words as you bounce along to the music. It can be difficult to find an album in which every song appeals to the listener. “In With The Out Crowd’ features twelve fantastic songs. The only criticism would be that the songs have a tendency to sound quite similar to each other. But who cares when the songs are so good? I couldn’t begin to pick out favourite tracks. Just go and get the album and listen to it over and over again!!
