Dev Hynes, the voice and ears behind Lightspeed Champion, is back with a brand new single, Marlene. Majestic in its infectious nature, Marlene is full of melodies and expansive arrangements. Yes, Dev still has it, as ‘Marlene’ is a reassuring and confident number to satisfy his fans. Having always had a positive energy in his voice, this track oozes with rhythm. It's very clever pop music. Marlene is taken from Lightspeed Champion’s forthcoming album. Note that Dev Hynes also plays every instrument on all three b-sides - a concerto; a cover of Serge Gainsbourg’s 69 Année Erotique (in French) and his version of (He’s) The Great Imposter, written in 1961 by eighteen-year old Sharon Sheeley, the fiancé and songwriter of Eddie Cochran.
