:: 28 Days - Like i Do28 DaysLike I Do, the latest single from Aussie outfit 28 Days begins in the increasingly popular style of Australian, hip hop influenced artists that rap with that unmistakable Aussie drawl. This is a deviation from their previous work but once the bass kicks in over the Beastie Boys style drums the track evolves into a melodic and overall enjoyable tune more reminiscent of the sound from their previous album “Stealing Chairs”. The chorus has a slightly edgy groove that rolls well with the attempted vocal harmonies but sometimes is too similar to their past works. The single is let down by the simplistic sampled effects which interfere with the scratching breaks and hip-hop interludes. Overall the lads do a pretty good job of cranking out a thrashy yet catchy track but don’t provide anything new to really get excited about. |
